A visit to the dentist. Not for the faint of heart!

Maddie is a teenager and still has baby teeth!  Her teeth have been the talk of our family for years.  She didn’t get her first tooth until 14 months old!  We joked that she would be in college and still have baby teeth.  🙂  When she was in third grade, our family dentist turned to me and said “Norwich or Albany?”  I had no idea what he was implying so I said, Norwich, as I despise the drive on 88 to Albany.  He said, “great.  That’s where your orthodontist will be.”  Norwich?  The Norwich that is 1 hour and 15 minutes from our house in good weather?  Are you kidding me?  Nope.  So, for all of 3rd, 4th, and most of the 5th grade Maddie had her braces (to give her room in her tiny mouth for her teeth to come in) and we took road trips to Norwich.  Mind you, some of these trips consisted of a whopping 5 minutes in the chair!  Between 5th and 8th grade we’ve been in a holding pattern waiting for these baby teeth to fall out.  Needless to say, it was determined that was NOT going to happen on its own.  So, back to our dentist we went to have her last 2 baby teeth removed.  What a trooper she was!  These teeth were tough to extract, but out they came and here’s a video of Maddie after the fact.
